AVAX has submitted an offer with a 17.5% discount among five candidates - GEK TERNA, the Intrakat-Mytiineos consortium, the EKTER-Domiki Kritis-ERETVO-TENA consortium, and INTERKAT - for a project that is budgeted at €310 million (including VAT) and includes an additional €76 million in options for the Kalpaki-Kakavia section and connections to the Ioannina Airport.
The total cost of the project amounts to €386 million, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is the Contracting Authority.
The project has two subsections:
Subsection 1: Ioannina-Kalpaki.
The subsection starts at the end of the concession contract (X.Th. 4+800) and ends at the end of AK Kalpaki (X.Th. 51+237.37), covering a total length of 46.4 km of new alignment. It includes six Uneven Interchanges, of which the AK K3 Passaronos (X.TH. 21+940 - X.TH. 23+441) is Option 1, and it is 1.47 km long.
Subsection 2: Kalpaki-Kakavia.
This subsection starts at the end of AK Kalpaki (P.O. 51+237.37) and goes beyond the Kakavias border station (P.O. 74+349.66), covering a total length of 23.11 km. The plan is to upgrade the existing road, which is Option 2.
