Cretan Sun and Sea Developments SA Strategic Environmental Impact Study (SEIS) refering to the ESHASE of the project "Costa Nopia" receives approval from the regional authorities of Crete.

The project of "CRETAN SUN AND SEA DEVELOPMENTS A.E. -an affiliate company of Leptos group- will be deployed in the region of Ravdoucha of the Municipal Unit of Kolymvari of the Municipality of Platanias in the Region of Chania.

The special committee examined and gave a positive opinion, in accordance with the terms of the recommendations of the following Environmental Impact Studies (EIA):

• Rethymno South Bypass in the Municipality of Rethymno, with project operator O.A.K. S.A.

• Asphalt mixture production unit of the company ARCHON E.P.E. in the location of Krapi, outside the boundaries of the settlement of Askyfos, Municipality of Sfakia

• COSMOTE A.E. mobile phone base station. with code name "SAMARIA-X 1402630" located at Oropedio Omalou, Municipality of Platanias

• Fixed wireless base station of OTE A.E., with the code name "AGIA ROUMELI BTB 0200372", on the ground at P.C. Agios Ioannis, Municipality of Sfakia

The investment in further detail

The investment plan that will be carried out on a plot of land with a total area of ​​1,130 acres includes the creation of 13 neighborhoods with approximately 830 residences, in which commercial shops will also be placed to serve residents and visitors.

It also comprises includes two hotel units with a total capacity of 300 rooms with 600 beds, a primary medical clinic and a pharmacy, a small 9-hole golf course and other sports facilities, restaurants, cultural facilities (e.g. olive museum or other local products), squares, green spaces, networks of green and coastal routes, research, education and training center facilities in the primary sector and innovative cropping actions.

In front of the coastal front, it is planned to place a shelter for tourist boats, with a capacity of up to 100 boats.

The shelter for tourist boats will be formed in the coastal and beach zone and in the adjacent sea area in front of the property, specifically at its southern end, where the coast has a small bay. In terms of transportation, the internal network of the holiday-tourist village, in all its 13 neighborhoods, will be served by a main road branch of vehicle traffic, which will ensure the necessary connection of the neighborhoods with each other, with the entrances and exits of the settlement and also with the area of ​​the proposed shelter for tourist boats.

The total amount of the investment will reach €300 million
