Deloitte advises superfund on Kalamata Airport concession deal

Deloitte served as the Financial Advisor to the Growth Fund, offering expert support and guidance throughout all stages of the tender process for the concession of Kalamata International Airport "Captain Vas. Constantakopoulos".

The company has announced that the Board of Directors of the Growth Fund has selected the FRAPORT AG – DELTA AIRPORT INVESTMENTS S.A. – PILEAS S.A. Consortium as the preferred investor for the 40-year concession to manage, operate, develop, expand, maintain, and exploit Kalamata International Airport "Captain Vas. Constantakopoulos".

The Financial Offer totals €45.2 million, with €45 million to be paid upfront at the start of the concession period. Over the course of the concession, the total expected financial flows to the Growth Fund are projected to exceed €71 million, reflecting the investor’s confidence in the airport's future prospects.

In addition, the investor has committed to investing €28.3 million during the first three years of the concession. This investment will include:

  • Renovation and modernization of existing facilities
  • Expansion and upgrading of the airport terminal, as well as the construction of a new aircraft parking area on approximately 50 acres of expropriated land
  • Technology infrastructure (IT infrastructure)
  • Development of retail stores (Duty-Free) and catering facilities (F&B)

Additionally, the Growth Fund will acquire 10% of the share capital of the Concessionaire from the original shareholders at no cost.

The conclusion of the Kalamata Airport concession marks the beginning of a series of strategic investments aimed at enhancing infrastructure and providing top-tier services in the operation and maintenance of the airport.
