The Organization is seeking a contractor to carry out renovation work valued at a minimum of €3.5 million, with a minimum monthly rental fee of €10,700.
This tender pertains to the leasing of two listed buildings, classified as works of art, located in the "commercial triangle" in the heart of Athens, at 6 Vouli Street. Following restoration, the buildings will be used as a hotel or non-primary hotel accommodation.
The complex, a quintessential example of neoclassical architecture, was constructed in the early 20th century. One building faces Vouli Street, while the other is located at the rear of the plot, connected to Lekka Street via a shared arcade. The two buildings are linked by an atrium.
One of the buildings previously housed a paper mill and printing press (Aigion S.A. and Ioannis Oikonomou / Panagiotis Palivogiannis) from the early 19th century. After the last tenants vacated the premises, machinery used by the printing press remained in place. Since the fixed and movable equipment from the printing press predates the last 100 years and is of significant historical value as industrial artifacts, the tenant is required to ensure their preservation and proper utilization.
It is important to note that the property no longer hosts any services and currently faces structural integrity issues, including the risk of collapse.
The lease agreement will be for a period of 30 years, with an option to extend for an additional 10 years, contingent upon mutual agreement between the parties. A written agreement for the extension must be made at least two years prior to the expiration of the initial term.
The tender will be held on May 21st.
