$125,000,000 through an ONEX Shipyards loan, the Development Bank of the USA (U.S. International Development Finance Corporation - DFC) secures financing to the Consolidation Plan of the Elefsina Shipyards, as decided by the Board of Directors of DFC.

The final amount is up from the $102,000,000 originally planned.

After being informed of this positive development for the Greek shipbuilding industry and in particular the Elefsina Shipyards, the Minister of Development & Investments, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis stated: "A little while ago, the US Ambassador to Greece, Mr. George Tsounis, announced that the internal process has been completed of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation for the loan to ONEX Shipyards for the financing of the Elefsinos Shipyards Cleanup Plan and in fact 125,000,000 dollars were finally approved, i.e. more than the 102,000,000 dollars that I had announced in Parliament.

Now all that remains is the approval of the Plan by our competent Court, based on our bankruptcy law, and the regeneration of the Shipyards finally begins.

Congratulations to the workers of the Elefsina Shipyards for the strength and maturity they have shown all these years. I am proud of them as well as all my partners who helped make this all a reality."
