As announced, the project aims at the upgrading and modernization of the building management system, the upgrade of the conventional lighting network with the use of new LED technology lamps, the utilization of a heat pump array to minimize the use of natural gas, the energy inspection to complete and certify the project, as well as the related technical support for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).
The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, emphasized: 'As part of the broader interventions by the Government aimed at using environmentally friendly energy sources, saving resources, and addressing the climate crisis, we are proceeding with the energy upgrade and modernization of buildings both in the public and private sectors, funded by European and national resources.
In this direction, we are also initiating similar initiatives at an emblematic site of modern Greece, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), which includes the new central facilities of the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera. With the upcoming energy upgrade of the buildings, the SNFCC will further strengthen its social role and its international presence as an environmentally sustainable space for culture and entertainment.
