As the company states, the areas in Eastern Attica where projects are being carried out or will be implemented include the municipalities of Rafina-Pikermi, Spata-Artemida, Marathon, Pallini, Paiania, Oropos, Saronikos (southern coast), and Kropia (coastal front). This involves a network of 307 kilometers of sewage pipelines and 10,171 external branches, along with a one-kilometer tunnel for the Rafina-Pikermi/Spata-Artemida Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).
Recently, the contract for the construction of the sewage network for the municipality of Spata-Artemida was signed, which will be over 190 km long. This network will be connected to the future Wastewater Treatment Plant of Rafina-Pikermi-Spata-Artemida and will link 10,000 properties to a modern sewage system.
The company's investment in Eastern Attica, amounting to approximately €1 billion, is progressing in other municipalities as well. In September 2024, the tender for the Paiania settlement (3,600 connections) was announced, and the construction contract for the Spata-Artemida sewage network (10,000 connections) is in the signing phase. Additionally, approval is expected for the tender related to the Marathon WWTP.
The projects cover all infrastructure elements (pipes, pipelines, pumping stations, etc.) that make up the sewage network, as well as the Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs). These include a series of model facilities for collecting and treating urban wastewater, aiming to convert it into clean recycled water that can be reused for agricultural and peri-urban purposes.
