The program, with a budget of €40 million, is being implemented as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan "Greece 2.0," funded by the European Union–NextGenerationEU.
The goal of the program is to improve energy efficiency in Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprises (DEYA), aiming to reduce primary energy consumption in water pumping stations by at least 20% and CO₂ emissions by 20% annually, through energy upgrades and operational efficiency improvements in DEYA pumping stations.
The beneficiaries of the program are the Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprises (DEYA) and potential partnerships between individual DEYAs. The subsidy rate is set at 60% of the net (excluding VAT) value of eligible expenses.
Of the €40 million total budget, €7 million will be allocated to DEYAs in water-scarce municipalities, €10 million to DEYAs in Thessaly, and €23 million to DEYAs in other regions.
Eligible actions that can be implemented under the program are divided into two main categories:
Direct Energy Upgrade Interventions: These include equipment improvements in pumping stations (e.g., motor replacements, installation of inverters, and remote control systems), as well as support through energy audits and preparation of project files.
Long-Term Energy Savings Strategic Studies: These focus on identifying, evaluating, and documenting energy-saving opportunities at the organizational level, providing a strategic framework for future actions.
Beneficiaries can submit their applications electronically from January 14, 2025, to March 31, 2025, via the electronic platform: https://deya-repower.gov.gr.
