Cenergy Holdings announced that Hellenic Cables, its cable division, has been awarded by ADMIE (Independent Electricity Transmission Operator) a contract for the design, supply and installation of 150kV XLPE underground and submarine cables.

This project will upgrade the electrical interconnections of Kefalonia-Zakynthos and Lefkada-Kefalonia, enhancing energy reliability and offering long-term benefits for the residents and visitors of the Ionian Islands, as pointed out in the relevant announcement.

The project includes the supply and installation of approximately 38 km of 150kV submarine and land cables and is expected to be completed in 2026. The submarine cables will be produced at Hellenic Cables' state-of-the-art factory in Corinth, the production capacity of which has recently been increased.

The Corinth plant is internationally recognized for its advanced production and testing capabilities, enabling the manufacture of submarine cables in long continuous lengths, it stressed. The terrestrial cables will be manufactured at the Hellenic Cables factory in Thebes, where investments are also being made to increase production capacity.
