It has been agreed that the responsibility for the development of the studies (including preparation and approval), as well as the preparatory procedures and necessary permits for the tendering of the project, will be transferred to the Region of Central Greece.
To support this, the Region will also receive the necessary funding from the Public Investment Program of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to facilitate the tendering of all studies related to the project, with a total amount of €7.9 million (including VAT).
This study pertains to the construction of a key road axis that will connect Northern Evia with the broader Chalkida area, and, by extension, with the rest of mainland Greece, via the High Bridge of Chalkida.
The goal of the project is to ensure, in combination with the strategically important Chalkida Bypass, a significant reduction in travel times, thereby greatly enhancing road safety.
