The project, amounting to 25 million euros, is expected to offer immediate and significant benefits to the local community, contributing substantially to the island's energy autonomy.
In further detail, the Wind Park is located in Fragaki - in the southern part of Andros - an area of extremely high wind potential. The station consists of five wind turbines, with a total power of 15 MW which will produce more than 58 GWh of electricity per year, a size capable of covering the annual energy needs of 3,500 households.
The operation of the wind farm also offers financial benefits to the local community, through a discount on the electricity bills of the residents of the wider area of the project's facilities and the financial support of the relevant Local Government Organisation.
