The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has called on foreign investors to support the city’s efforts in securing affordable housing for its residents. He unveiled the new housing strategy alongside other local leaders and real estate experts at this year’s MIPIM exhibition, currently being held in Cannes.

"Opportunity London" is a collaborative initiative involving private capital, the local government, and the central government, aimed at developing new housing—primarily affordable homes—along with rental properties, student accommodations, office buildings, logistics facilities, urban redevelopment projects, and more.

With investment in London set to rise in 2025 as interest rates decline, market confidence is steadily improving. The "Opportunity London" newsletter arrives at a critical moment, poised to attract capital, accelerate the city's development, and address the growing demand for affordable housing for Londoners.

London’s Mayor, Sadiq Khan, has reaffirmed his commitment to doing everything possible to build the much-needed affordable homes for the city’s residents. According to Mr. Khan, the city has recently launched an ambitious development plan, and attracting fresh investment for large-scale housing and transportation projects will be essential for boosting productivity and enhancing the overall quality of life in London.

Khan, together with London Councils, The City of London Corporation, Borough Leaders and private sector partners, will be engaged with developers and investors. In total, the Investment Prospectus details four development opportunities in London owned by Network Rail, the largest owner of brownfield land across the country.
