The Deputy Minister of Justice and Member of Parliament of Fokidos, Bougas Ioannis, participated in the event and addressed a greeting, as well as the Self-Governing Authorities.
Mr. Gikas, in his speech, referred to the three main axes on which the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy is moving, under the direction of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy, Christos Stylianidis.
As he said, "the first axis concerns Greece as a "bridge" between the European Union and the International Maritime Organization, the second axis concerns the promotion of the "Blue Economy" and sustainable green shipping and the third axis concerns the better utilization of the European programs and financing in the fields of green shipping and green infrastructure of Greek ports".
Regarding the Fokida region, Mr. Gikas referred to the multitude of projects that have been launched and have been included in the NSRF 2021-2027 and the development perspective of the wider area of Itea.
As he indicated indicatively, "these include, among others, the development of infrastructure for the operation of the waterway, the traffic works on the 28th of October coastal road within the land zone of the port, the studies on the dredging, as well as major projects that are in progress by the Region, such as the dredging and expansion of the port of Itea, the dredging of anchorages in Trocadero and Kirra, the placement of floating projectors, etc.'
The Deputy Minister also visited the Port Authority of Iteas, where he was informed by the Port Authority about service issues, with an emphasis on the simplification and digitization of procedures.
