The scope includes the integrated development and construction of medium-voltage underground lines connecting each switching station with the existing substation, with a length of approximately 18 km and performance of two years of operation and maintenance (O&M) services.
All projects (Grijota III, IV and V) are expected to deliver more than 307 GWh of renewable energy per year, equivalent to powering close to 95,000 homes and avoiding over 110,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions and deliver biodiversity net gains at each project site. Over 150 people will be involved in constructing the solar projects, leading to the creation of local jobs during the construction phase.
The selection of METLEN for those projects consolidates the company’s position into the Spanish market as a leader in providing competitive solar solutions for the Iberian industry, which will be added on the approx. 700 MW already commissioned capacity of solar PV plants in Spain, which by 2025 the expected rate is going to be more than 1 GW.
