More than 30% of the works in the new airport of Kastelli built by TERNA

The construction of the new International Airport of Heraklion of Crete (IAHC) is progressing rapidly under the TERNA leadership. The project has achieved over 30% progress based on its new improved design. This was discovered during a recent visit to the construction site in Kasteli by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, led by the Minister, Mr. Christos Staikouras.

In the Airport area, the earthworks and anti-flooding measures have been completed, along with paving works in the aircraft parking area. Paving works in the runway-taxiway areas are currently underway.

The following is an update on the progress of building works: The Police building and the water building's supporting body are near completion. The Carrier Organization is making good progress with the Central Airport Building (Terminal) project - the basement level, ground floor, and arrivals corridor are complete. Special systems for the Central Station Building are under construction, and the departure bridge in the Airport building is also being built.

The work on buildings is progressing. The Police building and the supporting body of the water building are both almost complete. The Carrier Organization is currently focusing on completing the basement level, ground floor, and arrivals corridor of the Central Airport Building (Terminal). Meanwhile, the construction of special systems for the Central Station Building is underway, and the departure bridge in the Airport building is also being constructed.
