Specifically, collaborating banks have approved 584 subsidized housing loans totaling €65 million, while the interest in participating in the program remains exceptionally high, as approximately 120,000 citizens have submitted their information to determine their eligibility based on the criteria.
The program aims to help approximately 20,000 households acquire a primary residence under favorable terms.
Based on initial data, the "My Home 2" program primarily benefits low-income and middle-class individuals, as the average annual income of the approved borrowers does not exceed €21,300.
The homes to be purchased have an average area of 91.5 square meters, suggesting that many participants are seeking family homes. About seven out of ten approved applications involve married couples and single-parent families.
"My Home 2" has expanded age criteria, covering citizens up to 50 years old, whereas the "My Home 1" program had an age limit of 39 years. The broader pool of eligible applicants is reflected in the first approved applications, with the average age of the borrowers being 38 years.
Although most approvals are concentrated in the two major population centers, Attica and Central Macedonia, more than 46% of the applications that have been approved so far were submitted from regional areas, indicating the geographic spread of interest.
Outside Athens and Thessaloniki, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace lead with 56 approvals, followed by Thessaly with 37.
