The solar farm was officially opened on Tuesday at a ceremony attended by company executives and partners and representatives from Bland Shire Council.
The park is located in West Wyalong, in the state's Riverina region, and is expected to produce the equivalent of the consumption of around 27,000 local households. It will operate under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with NBN Co, a state-owned wholesale broadband company. The 10-year contract covers 90 GWh of electricity per year, or about 62% of the plant's annual estimated output.
Mytileneos acquired the Wyalong project in late 2020 from Australian RES developer ESCO Pacific.
