According to Mr. Nikos Emmanouilidis -the president and managing director of the company who talked during an event dedicated to coffee and sustainable development- investments in the last five years reached €13 million with the aim of increasing productivity.
Next year, the completion of two new investments of 3 million euros is expected concerning a factory warehouse with the capacity to store 2,000 tons of coffee (2 million euros) and the installation of photovoltaics (1 million euros). It is been noted that in the last decade investments of 28 million euros have been made in the coffee factory in Inofyta.
"The investments we have made are starting to pay off," said Mr. Emmanouilidis and clarified that they function as defenses against the increased operating costs. When asked about this, he emphasized that this year the increase in the prices of raw materials amounts to 65%, energy to 100%, while the cost of packaging increased by up to 40% compared to a year ago. The burden in terms of exchange rates was also significant, as raw material purchases are made in dollars.
