The new revised master plan of the Piraeus Port Authority, which is expected to unlock the project of the new cruise pier in the port, was updated by the Ports Planning and Development Committee (ESAL).

The new port development plan, which includes the Strategic Environmental Impact Study, is expected to be sent to the Council of State for approval while the relevant presidential decree is expected to be issued.

New permits are expected to be submitted by the PPA for the continuation of the project shortly after, in order for the work to resume normally.

It is noted that the decision of the CoE has not affected the rest of the Organization's mandatory works resulting from the concession contract to Cosco Group Limited, but only the construction of the new cruise pier, a project that was in progress.

The construction company TEKAL has been declared the contractor of the specific project which belongs to the mandatory investments

The new pier has a length of approximately 1,510 meters and variable depth from -19 to -29.50 meters, while the creation of two berths for cruise ships with a length of 390 meters and 350 meters respectively is foreseen.

At the moment, the projects in progress at the Piraeus Port Authority are the extension of the Car Handling Station (Herakleos), the underground road connection of the Car Handling Station with the Former Space of the ODDY and the improvement of the infrastructure of the Shipyard Repair Zone in Perama.
