A contractual agreement for the upgrading of the railway was inked among the Greek State and the Railway Infrastructure Manager (O.S.E.).

According to the agreement a substantial increase in the annual funding of O.S.E. from 45 million euros to 75 million euros will be secured, in order to ensure the necessary resources for the maintenance and proper operation of the network.

The strengthening of state funding to the O.S.E. signals the opportunity for substantial upgrading and development of the railway infrastructure in our country.

At the same time, it imposes the obligation to observe an effective and functional grid of supervision, accountability, measurable results of the O.S.E., thus ensuring to the State and especially to the Greek citizens, one and only one thing, safe and reliable railway services.

In the same direction, in a letter to the company, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras, pointed out the importance of the immediate implementation on its part of the provisions on corporate governance of public limited companies, which, among other things, provide for specific regulations on the preparation of a strategic and business plan, as well as on the exercise of internal control.
