A Program Contract between the Thessaloniki Transportation Project Organization (OSETH) SA and the Attiko Metro was inked aiming at smooth implementation of all the studies and the accompanying projects of the Nea Elvetia Transfer Station of the Thessaloniki Metro.

According to the plan, a transport hub of Nea Elvetia will be created, where in addition to the metro terminal NEA ELVETIA, bus lines from the greater Thessaloniki will terminate, while a waiting area for taxis is also provided. In the area - near M. Psellou Street - the construction of a parking lot with a capacity of 500 seats is being examined, which will be accessible from Psellou Street, and from Prof. Evrigeni Street.

The cooperation of the two bodies aims at the careful evaluation, the control and the final approval of a series of studies for the projects of smooth traffic, modern accesses, comfortable service and transfer to the multimodal station that will be created in suitable spaces in the extension of Mich. Pselou.

It is also planned to have architectural restoration studies been prepared, so that the traveler can use the areas of the area safely and comfortably as soon as the Thessaloniki metro project is operational.

It is noted that the Municipality of Thessaloniki has already planned a series of projects for a multi-themed recreation area and other common areas in the wider area of ​​the southeastern gate of Thessaloniki.

The cooperation agreement between OSETH, the Municipality of Thessaloniki and the Region of Central Macedonia will follow, with the aim of starting the phase of the works for the completion of the spaces.

There, the emphasis will be on the environment, the terrain, the traffic, the lighting and the order of the accesses of the terminal space, the complex geotechnical and hydraulic issues but also the morphology that it will give to the car, bus and metro transfer station. the image of a modern functional space of sustainable movements.
