As mentioned in a post on social media, the meeting was held to discuss expanding the innovative research produced by the company.
In her post, the Deputy Minister states: "Today, I had the pleasure of visiting the Research and Development center of TESLA at the National Center for Scientific Research ‘Demokritos’ (NCSR Demokritos), in my capacity as Deputy Minister for Development, responsible for research and innovation. I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Konstantinos Laskaris, Head of Research and Design for TESLA's electric motors, as well as the company’s research team.
During our meeting, Dr. Laskaris presented the research activities of TESLA in Greece, which include:
a. The development of software for the design of electric motors. b. The design, production, and testing of prototypes to improve existing electric motors and develop new ones. c. The testing of new materials for use in the company’s electric motors.
The Ministry of Development has supported TESLA's research activities in Greece through funding tools such as the program ‘Research - Create - Innovate,’ to carry out two research projects with a total budget of €1,483,468.05 and public funding of €763,129.01.
TESLA, in its research facilities in Greece, employs more than 40 highly specialized engineers, the majority of whom are Greek, along with experts from other EU countries. The company plays a crucial role in both retaining top scientists in Greece and facilitating their return from abroad, offering high-level research career opportunities.
In order to further expand the innovative research produced by the company, we discussed with Dr. Laskaris the possibilities for additional support. At the conclusion of our meeting, I congratulated Dr. Konstantinos Laskaris and the researchers at TESLA, who, through their groundbreaking work, are advancing science and innovation on an international level."
