The preliminary pre-seismic inspection process of buildings has been initiated through a decree published in the government gazette.

These checks will be carried out, in order of priority, in buildings that house public and private educational units of all levels, public and private hospitals and health centers, services of the Greek Police, the Fire Brigade, public staff services to deal with emergency needs from an earthquake and then to the rest of the buildings.

For this purpose, an electronic platform for recording results is being created at the Organization for Earthquake Planning and Protection (E.P.P.O.) and the Technical Chamber of Greece (T.E.E.) is preparing an Electronic Register of Engineers for Pre-Earthquake Control of Buildings

Graduated engineers-members of T.E.E. are registered in the Register. with the right to prepare and supervise special static studies and with at least two years of professional experience in the preparation and/or supervision of said studies.

The primary seismic inspections of the buildings must be completed, within one year of the expiry of the deadline for registration by the competent services of the data of the inspected buildings on the Electronic Platform of the E.P.P.O..

This control consists of the first recording and the approximate rapid assessment of the seismic capacity of the buildings, according to the specifications and methodology of the Primary Seismic Control Bulletin of the E.P.P.O..

The cost has been calculated at €30,540,000 and the financing is covered by resources of the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
