Speaking at the "Transportation - Infrastructure" conference held in an Athens hotel under the auspices of the Ministries of Transport, Development and Investments, Shipping and Island Policy and with the support of the Region of Attica, Mr. Georgiadis emphasized that "the reopening of seaplanes is one of the few pending matters that are left in the ministry. Maybe even before the elections, shortly after the elections at the latest, the first test routes of the seaplanes will start. We are close."
The Minister of Development spoke about the importance of modern transport, stressing that the situation after the tragic accident in Tempe has placed the concept of transport at the center of public interest.
"These feelings of anger and sadness that we all felt should not distract us from the basic goal of modern transport in the country safely. Let's look at transport with a developmental aspect that will contribute to the progress and competitiveness of the Greek economy", he said and added that the government is making use of modern technology in the effort to turn the country around, stressing that if this effort continues we will see visible results soon .
