As he mentioned, the new housing program concerns, like the previous one, a housing loan subsidy with a change in the age criteria for it will also cover ages 40-50.
"The government intends to implement a new "My Home" program with much larger resources, amounting to 2 billion euros. To do this we need to conclude a negotiation with the Commission. We want to widen the perimeter, to go to couples from 40 to 50 years who were excluded from the previous program." "I am not ready to announce anything definitive because the negotiation is ongoing, but I am moderately optimistic that we will achieve our goal and we will be able to make a new program with many more beneficiaries," the prime minister said.
It is recalled that through the 1st cycle of the "My House" program with a total budget of €750 million, which was completed last September, young people or young couples aged 25-39 could acquire a home with a monthly installment significantly lower than that corresponding to market mortgages , as 75% of the capital was granted interest-free by DYPA, while for those with three and many children the loan is interest-free.
The loan amount was up to 90% of the value of the property based on a purchase contract with a maximum of €150,000 for a property value of up to €200,000 and the repayment period was up to 30 years.
