In particular, a team of 7 highly specialized climbers came as every summer from France exclusively for the inspection and maintenance work of cables and pylons, as it is necessary to use highly experienced personnel to carry out these demanding technical monitoring.
The specialized maintenance activities are part of GEFYRA's permanent commitment, as a member of the VINCI Highways network, to the safety and structural maintenance of the Project, so that it continues to be a point of reference for infrastructure projects in Greece and worldwide. Exclusively for the current biennium 2023-2024, GEFYRA estimates that it will spend €7.4 million on improvements, repairs, instrumental structural monitoring and maintenance work.
The work of the team of climbers is expected to be completed by the beginning of August. During the maintenance work, the traffic on the Bridge is carried out as normal.
