TERNA Energy engages in a €5,5B investment scheme

The installed capacity of the Group from 906 MW at the end of 2022, will increase by autumn to over 1,200 MW.

Multinational energy groups operating in the fossil fuel sector are trying to achieve the green transition.

As said during the Annual Ordinary General Meeting of the shareholders of Terna Energy, the President of the company Giorgos Peristeris "for more than two decades in Terna Energy management, employees and shareholders have turned the company into a pioneer in clean energy and the largest Greek renewable energy investor in Southeast Europe and today our company is well positioned to capitalize on its unique experience, its diversified portfolio, but also the prospects that are opening up before it".

According to Mr. Peristeris, the installed capacity of the Group from 906 MW at the end of 2022 will increase by autumn to over 1,200 MW. At the same time, a pioneer in large-scale storage, the construction of the pumped-storage project in Amfilochia (680 MW) is progressing according to schedule, while significant new power projects in Greece and abroad (mainly photovoltaic) are ready for construction.

As a result, the total capacity of projects in operation, under construction and ready for construction exceeds 2,000 MW in this particular period. With revenues gradually starting to contribute, new investments from 2023 will contribute to further long-term growth in profitability, with the ultimate goal of 6 GW of installed capacity by 2029.

"However, TERNA Energy does not only invest in RES. We are implementing an investment plan of €5.5 billion in clean energy, environment, circular economy, while strengthening our presence in pioneering technology and innovation projects" said, among other things, its President listed company and underlined that "we are doing everything we can to be worthy of trust and to repay by consistently offering a value that exceeds €200 million in the last six years, including the €45 million of the dividend that is requested to be approved by G. S".
