With the bioclimatic regeneration of the "smart" route, the broader aesthetic and functional upgrade of the Metropolitan Park "Antonis Tritsis", is being promoted from the Region of Attica.

The central idea for the regeneration of the main route of the Park, which is approximately 2 km long, follows the principles of bioclimatic planning and the accessibility of people with disabilities, where the visitor on this "smart" route will encounter reference points that will inform him with "smart" and modern way about the history, culture and environment of the Park.

All the proposed interventions are mild, and the materials used will be natural and environmentally friendly. At the same time, the configuration with new plantings will highlight even more the vegetation of the area, with scattered bushes and plants, in combination with the installation of the necessary irrigation system.

Finally, the element of water, which is so intense in Tritsis Park, is highlighted even more and becomes more accessible to the visitor by replacing the central fountain with floor jets.

The project

It is been noted that the specific project is part of the wider project "Environmental, aesthetic and functional upgrading of the "Antonis Tritsis" Metropolitan Park", which is financed by the Green Fund in the framework of the priority axis Innovative actions - Smart cities of the financing program "Natural environment & innovative actions 2020" with a total budget of 3,000,000 euros.

It is been reminded that work has already been carried out which ensured the proper functioning of the Park's lakes and the water recycling system throughout the complex of lakes, with the activation of the water supply pipeline with a daily capacity of 1000 cubic meters of water, the waterproofing of lake No. 5 and the canal that runs through the Park and which ends in lake No. 6, as well as the restoration of the recirculation of water from lake No. 6 to lake No. 4.
