The Counsil of State approves the Special Urban Plan for Agios Dionysios area in Piraeus

The draft Presidential Decree refering to the Special Urban Plan for the area of Agios Dionysios in the port of Piraeus was approved by the CoF.

The Special Urban Plan defines the use of land and the terms and restriction of construction in an area of ​​372.8 acres that is circled by the Kastoros - Thesmoforiou - Methoni - Retsina - Agios Filippou streets and borders North with the areas of Tambouria and Palea Kokkinia- Maniatika, Municipality of Drapetsona, South with the coast of Kondili and East with the areas of the Electric and Retsina.

As it is been clarified the proposed Special Urban Plan of the area of ​​Ag. Dionysiou Piraeus, aims at

  • having the region been enhanced as a multifunctional center, while preserving the residence and highlighting its cultural heritage,
  • strengthening and reconstruction of the productive and economic base, in the direction of modern business activities and
  • functional interconnect port activities and the urban transportation network with the area of ​​intervention, which is referred to as the area "Gazi - Papastratou

One of the objectives of the Special Urban Plan is to reactivate the use of abandoned buildings, either with the same use or with new uses, compatible with the perspective of the area in the tertiary sector and as far as possible the preservation of the existing shells.

The same area is being proposed as a Special Aid Zone (SEA), in order to have modern finanicng means been offered to existing entreprises and incentives offerd to owners of traditional properties in order have them been restored.
