The submission of applications for the "execonomo 2025" program starts today. In addition to property owners (full ownership, usufruct, or bare ownership), tenants with a lease agreement that has at least seven years remaining at the time of application are also eligible to participate in the program.

The budget of the program amounts to €396,100,000, including VAT, and is funded by resources from the Recovery and Resilience Fund. Of this budget, €27,380,184.33 is allocated to families with a member or members with disabilities, €91,267,281.11 is allocated to victims of the Thessaly floods and the earthquake-affected area of Arkalochori (of which €54,760,368.66 is for vulnerable households), and €18,253,456.22 is allocated to families with four dependent children. For other beneficiaries, approximately €260 million is allocated, with the subsidy amounting to 95% for family incomes up to €10,000.

Priority will be given to areas with the most unfavorable weather conditions, and the subsidy amount will be determined by multiplying the energy savings from the interventions by €1.20 per kilowatt-hour saved. For example, if energy savings of 10,000 kWh are achieved through the interventions, the subsidy will be €12,000. The maximum subsidy amount may reach €35,000.

Depending on the category the beneficiary falls into, the percentage of financial support starts from 50%, and in some cases, up to 100% of the investment cost may be covered.

Eligible expenses under the program include:

  • Replacement of windows and doors,
  • Installation/upgrade of thermal insulation,
  • Upgrade of heating/cooling systems,
  • Domestic hot water system using Renewable Energy Sources (RES),
  • Other energy-saving interventions, such as the installation of a smart home system and energy storage systems (batteries).

The loans financing the new program can have a duration of 4 to 6 years and are subsidized at 100% for the entire duration. The interest rate is fixed at 7.5% plus a 0.12% contribution. The bank cannot charge the applicants with any loan management fees.

The implementing agency of the “execonomo 2025” program is the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), and the financial management agency is the Hellenic Development Bank S.A.

Applications for funding from interested parties will be submitted exclusively online, from January 8, 2025, to March 20, 2025, and must be submitted through the official program website (https://exoikonomo2025.gov.gr).
