The Region of the South Aegean, honoring its islands that are small in area but of great national importance and faithful to its commitment to create infrastructure for the first time on these islands, immediately after the construction of a port on the islet of Ro, began the implementation of a road network in Strongyli, where a few years ago he built a jetty to facilitate access to the island.
The project is ongoing and with its completion by the end of November, Strogyli will have a road network for the first time in its history.
In particular, a 3 m wide road is being built from the pier to the top of Strongyli, a particularly difficult task due to the morphology of the island and its rocky terrain.
It is financed by the code of Own Resources of the South Aegean Region, from where the port in Ro was also financed.
The Regional Governor Giorgos Hatzimarkos stated about the importance of the project:
"After the national celebration, the work that gives us the strength we need to continue is one of those that serve the concept of the Motherland. A project, one of those that seemed impossible to implement. A small budget but big value project. The Round of Megisti is the eastern border of Greece. Strongyli is the island on which we built a jetty a few years ago and today we continue the commitment we gave then, to always be close to the small DNA islands of our region and of Greece. Strogyli acquires a road network for the first time in its history. Soon, we will be able to visit the island and take a vehicle to its top. At the top of our country.
