The municipality of Haidari will proceed with the complete renovation of a densely populated and highly "loaded" area.

According to the Municipal Authority's announcement, the relevant project was approved by the "Antonis Tritsis" program, amounting to 8,866,819 euros and concerns the wider area from Karaiskaki Street to the Kounelia district.

This is the largest urban refurbishment project that has been planned to date in Haidari, and for an area with serious shortcomings, but also great damage to its infrastructure and public spaces, such as squares, sidewalks, green areas, etc.

The aim of the project is to upgrade the whole area, to facilitate the movement of pedestrians, to enhance the greenery, to increase the number of visitors and to upgrade the urban equipment (living rooms, pergolas, trash cans, lighting of squares and sidewalks, etc.). ). At the same time, problems that have plagued residents for many years will be addressed, such as the damage to paved uphill roads, the insufficient width of sidewalks and their restoration where required, ensuring the accessibility of public spaces, but also the safe movement of within the urban fabric.

According to the schedule, the bidding process of the project is expected to be completed in the next six months and the construction works are expected to start within 2022.
