Piraeus' strategic development plan, encompassing ongoing investments and comprehensive modernization efforts, has consistently led to significant growth and improvements across all areas of port activity.
In recent years, the port's passenger transport sector—particularly coastal shipping and cruises—has seen remarkable growth.
With nearly 20 million passengers served annually, the Port of Piraeus is now the largest port in Europe and one of the largest globally.
By providing world-class services, the port acts as a vital link between mainland Greece, the Aegean islands, and Crete, while also serving as a key gateway connecting Europe to its southeastern edge.
Mr. Su Xudong, Managing Director of Piraeus Port Authority (PPA S.A.), expressed his satisfaction, stating: “At PPA S.A., we are proud of the continuous accolades and top rankings the Port receives. The systematic and targeted efforts, along with the extensive experience and expertise of our team, are key to our success, positioning Piraeus as a model port known for its efficient and responsible operations.”
The European Conference on Coastal Shipping was held in Greece for the first time in early November, drawing around 200 delegates from across Europe. The conference included a tour of Piraeus Port facilities, showcasing services at both the passenger and cargo terminals.
