The commitment that the tender for the extension of the pedestrian walkway of Agia Sophia, from Tsimiski to the coastal Nikis Avenue, will proceed until the end of 2024, after the necessary approvals from the Green Fund, was undertaken by the mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudis.

During the meeting of the Municipal Council, Mr. Angeloudis, giving a short summary of the last few days, focused on the signing of the contract for the utilization of the former Papafi Stables, as well as on the regulations that the municipal authority is proceeding with for the development of the bank seats and the release of the public space, for the orderliness of the beach front from itinerant hawkers and noise pollution, but also the implementation of the loading and unloading schedule.

The mayor said that in September the 13th KAPI will operate in the Upper Town, while two new municipal clinics and a new counseling structure for juvenile delinquency will be inaugurated.

He spoke about the creation of free parking spaces in Agios Dimitrios and near the park of Agios Therapontos, as well as the cleaning of Thermaikos, saying that after consultation with the YMA-TH, where the responsibility remains, the cleaning of the coastal front will be done six days a week .
