Three waste treatment plants in Patras, Santorini and Tinos were recently auctioned

The Ministry of Environment and Energy announced 3 additional auctions for waste treatment units in Patras, Santorini and Tinos with worth of c.€68.5 million .

It is noted that the €44.5 million Patras waste treatment plant has a capacity of 53,000 tons of mixed waste and 8,100 tons of pre-selected organic waste, while it also includes its operation for 6 years. The beneficiary of the project is the Waste Management Association of the municipalities of the Achaia's regional authority and the project was auctioned by the municipality of Patras.

The waste treatment plant of Santorini and other infrastructures, such as landfill, has a budget of €17.5 million and will be built using the PPP method and the contractor will take over its operation for 27 years. The unit will accept all waste streams and will have a total capacity of approximately 27,000 tons. The beneficiary of the project is FODSA of South Aegean and the project was tendered by the Region of South Aegean.

The waste treatment unit of Tinos concerns bio-waste management and the creation of a landfill. It has a budget of €6.3 million and includes operation for six years. The beneficiary of this project is the South Aegean FODSA, while the project was tendered by the South Aegean Region.
