As part of its 20-year collaboration with the Austrian group, SABO S.A. has provided complete solutions delivering more than 30 successful projects for Wienerberger ceramic factories in Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania, Russia & Serbia.
The project in question concerns a large-scale modernization and upgrade of its factory unit in Kanjiža, Serbia, one of Wienerberger's 215 factory units worldwide. The purpose of the investment was to upgrade the final produced product, from the traditional roof tile to a Premium one, of larger dimensions and of high quality, as well as the necessary special pieces of tile roof that accompany it. This was achieved by upgrading the tile firing technology from U-type cassettes to H-type cassettes.
The technical teams of SABO S.A. and Wienerberger worked closely together to study and identify the parts of the line that needed upgrading and new machinery, as well as those that could be left as they are. The rationalization of the investment had a significant impact on the investment costs, helping, at the same time, to focus on critical areas of the production process.
The project was full of interesting challenges in its design and implementation stages, as the engineers had to work consecutively, in different areas of the factory and within a strict schedule, while coordinating the technical teams of third-party suppliers.
The CEO of SABO S.A., Mrs. Eugenia Koiliari states: "Together with Wienerberger, we are investing in innovation projects and state-of-the-art equipment for the ceramics market. A big thank you to all the team members and people involved in the project!"
