Works at the Thessaloniki Metro' side project on Michail Psellou Street have begun

The approval of the Metropolitan Committee of Thessaloniki was received for the environmental impact study for the project of the opening of Michail Psellou Street, which is considered an accompanying project of the Metro and is estimated to contribute to the service of Metro and bus passengers in the area of Nea Elvetia, while reducing times transfer from one means of transport to another.

Specifically, the project, will be executed by the Thessaloniki Transport Project Organization, comprise the opening of Michail Psellou Street and the construction of its respective junctions with the Thessaloniki - Moudanion highway, with Papanastasiou Street and with the bus transfer terminal New Switzerland.

The total construction duration is estimated at eight months, the project has a budget of €5 million and foresees, among other things, earthworks, removal of asphalt and restoration of layers and installation of signage, safety elements and lighting.

According to the services of the Region of Central Macedonia, the implementation of the project in this area is imperative due to the construction of the New Switzerland Metro terminal there as well as the bus transfer station.
