The company has signed an exclusive local partnership that aims to deliver 40 hotels under the brand, over the next seven years.
A strategic development agreement has been signed with NILE Hospitality, an Indian development and hotel management company. Under the agreement, NILE will develop and operate franchised hotels under the Microtel banner, in tier two, three and four cities across India.
Currently, there are 360 Microtel hotels globally, with 321 of those in North America. Across Asia Pacific, the brand is already rolling out in China, the Philippines, and has launched in New Zealand with its first hotel open there.
