Turkey inks long-term deal with TotalEnergies

Turkey imports most of the gas it consumes from Russia, as well as from Qatar and Azerbaijan.

Turkey has signed a "long-term" deal with French group TotalEnergies for liquefied natural gas (LNG) deliveries over ten years from 2027.

Accoriding to the announcement of the minister responsible Alparslan Bayraktar , "we have signed a long-term LNG agreement between our national company, Botas, and TotalEnergies. With this agreement, which will be valid for 10 years from 2027, sixteen LNG cargoes of approximately 1.6 billion cubic meters will be delivered each year."

"Our long-term LNG agreements are of great importance to guarantee the security of energy supplies of our country and our region, to increase the diversification of our sources and to ensure the flexibility of our energy supply," underlined Turkish minister.
