The project concerns the energy upgrade of the historic Sarogleio Mansion, which houses the Armed Forces Officers’ Club (ΛΑΕΔ), and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, with the Ministry of National Defense as the beneficiary.
Within the scope of the project, an initial Energy Performance Certificate will be issued, and the necessary technical studies for implementing the interventions will be prepared. These interventions focus on significantly reducing the building’s energy consumption and modernizing its electromechanical systems.
Restoration and Upgrades
Specifically, the works include the replacement of central heating boilers with high-efficiency models, upgrading pumps and circulation systems for air conditioning, installation of new Inverter air-conditioning units with energy class A+++, and replacement of fluorescent lighting with LED fixtures. Additionally, an energy consumption monitoring and recording system will be installed.
The project also incorporates the use of renewable energy sources, including the installation of a central solar thermal system with selective collectors and triple-energy water heaters, as well as a photovoltaic station, enhancing the building’s energy footprint.
Beyond energy interventions, architectural works will be carried out to preserve and highlight the historic character of the mansion, while simultaneously improving the functional performance of the facilities.
This investment is part of the strategic utilization of resources under the new NSRF to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while also supporting domestic construction and technical activity.
