Kallithea and Palaio Faliro goin Greece’s digital land registry

The integration of these final municipalities into the Registry’s permanent operational framework, effective Wednesday, 7 October, marks the addition of a further 162,301 properties and 269,097 property rights to the cadastral database.

The transition to a modern system for managing real estate eliminates bureaucracy, simplifying everyday transactions, while also serving as a key driver of development by supporting sound spatial planning and attracting new investment initiatives.

All transactions conducted by citizens and professionals with the Hellenic Land Registry, from searching for information to the electronic submission of deeds and the issuance of documents and certificates, can now be completed digitally, without the need for physical presence at a Land Registry Office. The Hellenic Land Registry is leaving behind the delays of the past and evolving into a modern digital partner for citizens, consistently responding to the demands of the new era.

What Citizens and Professionals Need to Know

From now on, all transactions with the Land Registry will be conducted exclusively through digital channels.

• Submission of notarial deeds (except in specific cases) exclusively online.
• Digital processing of legal instruments by lawyers, including the registration of pre-notation of mortgage and the discharge of security interests.
• Electronic submission of deeds by the Public Administration (Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE)).
• Electronic submission of court documents through court bailiffs.
• Applications for corrections and obvious errors exclusively online.
• Searches of the cadastral database exclusively via the internet.
• Issuance of certificates and copies digitally, 24/7.
• Electronic protocol — no physical submission of documents.
• Abolition of administrative stamp duties on applications and certificates.
• Exclusive use of electronic payments (e-banking and POS).

All Land Registry Services, Digitally

The transition of the Municipalities of Kallithea and Palaio Faliro to permanent operation further strengthens the digital transformation of the Hellenic Land Registry. Citizens now have electronic access to the full range of services for managing their real estate, while professionals can complete their transactions digitally, achieving significant savings in both time and resources.

A notable example is the new metavoles.ktimatologio.gr platform, which has been operational since September and enables corrections to a property’s geometric data—such as boundaries, surface area and other information contained in cadastral maps—to be carried out entirely online. Citizens, engineers and court bailiffs can complete the entire process digitally, without the need for any physical presence at a Land Registry office.

This effort also includes the Digital Map (maps.ktimatologio.gr), a tool that allows anyone concerned to locate their property on the map and immediately determine what action they need to take if any information requires correction.
